OUTPATIENT TREATMENT PROGRAM
Our program is a full day, intensive, outpatient treatment program. Clients are expected to attend five days a week (Sunday-Thursday) from 10-5, as well as attend 12 step meetings in the evenings. They will be receiving the same quality of treatment, as they would from some of the best in patient treatment centers in the west, from our internationally trained professionals. Clients learn how to deal with their issues, their addiction, cravings, different ways of thinking, coping, taking responsibility for themselves and not blaming. Recovery becomes a new way of thinking, feeling and being, which can last a lifetime.
Our groups are small, to ensure that each client receives appropriate attention. Group members are encouraged to interact and provide feed back to one another, and help each other on the path to recovery.
DAY BY DAY KEEP YOUR ADDICTION AWAY
Each day begins with Meditation, specially designed to help clients focus on the work, which is to be done that day. Meditation is followed by Process Group, where clients may present and explore other issues which they may be currently having in addition to addiction. Daily Step Groups follow Process Group; in Step Groups each person presents his or her work to the other group members for feedback, support, and encouragement. Daily Workshops provide recovery techniques to help deal with issues such as denial, cravings, emotions and anger management; practical exercises are included in the workshops.
Additionally, we are privileged to have three specially trained and caring professionals as a part of our team to provide sessions in spirituality, life skills, and art therapy; a professional physical therapist guides clients in weekly stretching/yoga/mild gym classes. We invite members of the 12-step fellowship to come in and speak to the clients about how they came to be in recovery, to provide encouragement and support, and to serve as role models.
12 STEP FELLOWSHIP
As part of their recovery, clients are required to attend what is called the 12 step fellowship, more commonly known as AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and/or NA (Narcotics Anonymous) Which meet regularly, meetings are either in English or Arabic, (please contact Maabar for details), meetings are held in the evening.
IMPACT OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE ON FAMILIES
Addiction not only affects the person suffering from it, it also affects the family, and therefore, participation is included with weekly family sessions. The family is educated on addiction, and later comes together to work with the client to work on the client’s addiction, help the client understand how their addiction has affected other’s, and take responsibility for their actions. This is also a time for the family to learn the best way to support the client, and realistic expectations for the clients recovery process.
AFTER CARE PROGRAM
Once a person has successfully completed the drug and alcohol treatment program, they are encouraged to participate in our after care program, which consists of continued work with their primary therapist, and weekly therapeutic group sessions. Clients are also encouraged to continue with AA and NA program participation.
With successful completion of our Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program, clients report that they report they are happier, life has meaning, family relationships have improved, as it’s said often, they are given a life beyond their wildest dreams — so much better than they have ever had it before. We understand that the process is not easy, we understand that it’s difficult, , we are here to help and make it better.
